Tambo Restaurant
Venezuela, 1996
This restaurant occupies the ground floor of an office building in downtown Caracas. The existing glass and aluminum facade is softened by the mahogany screen inside that inflects at the top to give a sense of enclosure to the narrow vertical space. The steel stair in the shape of an eclipse, leads to the mezzanine that overlooks the screen and then the street beyond. It seats about 80 and has a long bar.
